What materials are backpacks and travel bags made from?

Every material says something different about your brand. Here's a quick guide to help you choose.

Technical polyester: the durable standard: The most common material for backpacks and travel bags. You'll find it in 600D, 300D, 360 and 190T depending on the model. It stands up to daily use, heavy loads and the hustle of public transport.
RPET: the same strength, with a better story: Polyester recycled from plastic bottles. Choose from backpacks and bags in RPET, RPET-PU and RPET with recycled cotton, including heathered and two-tone versions. Same performance, a stronger sustainability story.
Cotton and natural fibres: Cotton, organic cotton and recycled cotton for drawstring bags and gift bags. Jute and cork for natural finishes with character. And bamboo for accessories such as RFID sleeves.
Felt and canvas: the finish with personality: Felt and RPET felt for backpacks and laptop sleeves, with a soft feel and more of a design-studio look than a warehouse one. Canvas and washed canvas for a vintage look that never goes out of style.
PU, tarpaulin and premium materials: PU, PET-PU and PET-PVC for leather-look backpacks and duffle bags. Tarpaulin when you want a technical, rugged finish. And EVA, PET-EVA, PVC, PE and PP for accessories and structural parts.
Metals and plastics for accessories: Aluminium and metal for luggage tags and card holders, ABS for adapters and luggage scales, silicone for flexible card holders, and paper and recycled paper for gift bags.

How personalisation works

Screen printing: for flat-colour logos and large orders.
Transfer or digital printing: for gradients, photos and full-colour designs.

The available technique depends on the model and material, and is shown on each product page.

How to care for fabric bags

To keep the print looking its best:

Wash them inside out.
Use cold water or a low temperature, never above 60 °C.
Don't tumble dry: they may shrink.
Dry them flat and, when storing them, place paper or cardboard between each bag.

How do you clean and care for personalised backpacks and travel bags?

If you are going to buy personalised cloth bags, it is essential that you know how to take care of them and keep them in perfect condition. To guarantee their durability and hygiene, here are some tips for good maintenance and storage at home.

You can alternate several personalised bags so they don't get dirty and you have more time to clean them. We recommend washing them every two or three uses, to keep bacteria away from the food you are going to transport.

To keep the print on your personalised bag in good condition, remember to always wash it inside out. You can wash them by hand with a mild soap or use washing machine. Remember to drain it well and lay it flat as much as possible. If it's stained, for example oil, you can wash it by hand using a Marseille soap or a detergent with ammonia. Remember to rub well and let dry before putting in the washing machine. It is very important to wash them in cold water or at a low temperature, since cotton is a material that tends to shrink with hot water. If you want to keep your personalised bags in perfect condition, never wash them in temperatures above 60°. Dryer can shrink personalised bags, just like clothes.
